ATTENTION IBTF COACHES + JUDGES:
A series of seminars beginning Saturday, October 28 and an educational course designed to educate Coaches and Judges on the new Freestyle Solo program and corresponding judging system is available to you for purchase to study and learn about the system that will be implemented in full at the 2026 World Freestyle & Rhythmic Twirl Championship.
A message from WFNBTA Leaders who serve on the IBTF Executive:
“We would like to take this opportunity to let our WFNBTA judges, coaches and general membership know about an exciting development that has been over 10 years in development and will lead us into the future of judging for our athletes and promote accountability to the public and media as our sport gains more and more recognition.
We are referring to the new “code of points” judging process which will actually be tested at the upcoming IBTF 2024 World Freestyle and Rhythmic Championship in Sweden. Over the coming years we hope to continue to work with this system to include some of the mechanics into more of our disciplines. This system has been modeled after the figure skating judging process and is the kind of judging that will be expected as we move towards sport recognition and the Olympic ladder.
Although the system has been developed by the WBTF specifically for the Freestyle Solo competition, we endorse its value for the future and the IBTF will be adopting the system. Therefore, we want to encourage all WFNBTA judges and coaches to take part in the upcoming webinars that will describe the system in detail.
This is very exciting and there is much more information to come.
We want to thank Paola DeMarchi for the many years of hard work that she and her team of technical experts have dedicated to the development of this system!”

The series of seminars begins October 28, 2023 with an Informational Seminar.
