Years involved in baton twirling.
What is your first memory of baton twirling? What made you start?
My earliest memory is a majorette parade. The beauty of the whole, the harmony of the shapes, the twirling batons.... and then the sport of baton twirling.
What was the most helpful/impactful coaching advice you ever received?
Work with the heart.
What is your role on the Executive Committee and what do you find most rewarding about your work on the IBTF EC?
I'm co technical director. Work together with my colleagues for the union of the two federations, make our sport bigger, lay the foundations, even in our small way, for a world of peace.
What is your reason for giving back to the sport?
I do out of love for this sport and for the athletes who rely on us.
I love to see baton twirling improving.
What quote/mantra/saying do you live by?
Enjoy the trip!
What do you hope most for the sport of baton twirling –or—what are you looking forward to most at the first IBTF World Baton Twirling Championships?
I strongly believe in the union of our forces, for our athletes, for our sport, in recognition by the Sport Accord. I would like to see our sport explode in all its beauty, supported by correct technique. I would like the IBTF to be an example of peaceful collaboration for the world of youth.
